Happy 4th Birthday Lovely Lula

Yes, I know I can't believe it either...Lula is four years old.
Two is a milestone, three is leaving the baby stage and four is just plain BIG!!

Lula had a great birthday! It all started at Inflation Nation and it was a blast!! After climbing, jumping and running around these kids were so exhausted...

Next came ice cream cones with eyeballs :)
Need I say more about that...

And finally the birthday party with great friends...

 ...and the poodle cake!
Happy Birthday my beautiful little princess. We love you!!

Ahhhh the smell of spring...

It was a very beautiful day.
We woke up to the sun kissing us on the cheeks.
The "big" kiddos and I went to school early for a Mommy and Me breakfast.

This is what I found when I came back...

After reading a couple books with Daddy, Lula wanted to get up and go...

...so we put the pink, sparkly princess shoes on and headed into the woods.

Half-way Lula needed a lift. She will be four years old in three days, but whenever she asks to be carried or asks for Mommy or Daddy to sleep with her she'll say, "I'm still only three"...

I just love the spring smell in the air. Even the dogs sense that swimming is right around the corner...

This is one of our feel-good, favorite places in Williamsburg...Little Creek.
On our way back from a perfect walk in the woods we stop to play until it's time to go...

Before we know it the brown hues will shortly be bustling greens.
Time of the new season...

Moving right along....

Tomorrow I'll be 20 weeks pregnant...

Well, tomorrow also marks the half way point. I have to say I feel amazing. I have lots of energy, and am able to get all my housekeeping done everyday!

Today I had an ultrasound and the kids skipped school to come along. It's amazing how we can connect with our babies and sort of see them before we give birth.

It's also amazing how we can prepare ourselves ahead of time by finding out the sex of the baby.

Being a family who has both a boy and girls, I feel like we really should wait and be surprised...

...but you know me...

The one who cares not to be surprised...I found out!!!

Let's just put it this way we are all REALLY happy!

And for all of you like me who care not to be surprised...

I'll give you a hint:

There is a reason why I used a certain color for the border on the pictures of this post :)

Keeping busy...

It's a Tuesday Afternoon on a pretty sunny day and what better way to spend it baking a cake...

I've been readjusting my thoughts and decided to throw out all my woes.
I haven't really expressed my disappointments about our move to VA. to most of you, but after a good conversation with one of my best friends...I've decided to look on the bright side. I've been focusing on what I don't have here rather than what I do have...well we all know the epiphany that follows a changed mind frame.

I do feel more content being here and I've opened my eyes to the many things that I LOVE about being here.
I've been making friends now that I've decided I should and will.

We found an amazing church, a great grocery store with a bulk department and an endless variety of natural foods options. Yay!!

So, as I was saying...Lula and I baked a cake on a sunny day...
A homemade quinoa and praline cake with homemade buttercream frosting.
